Nike Fuel Band Goes Viral [VIDEO]

[VIA MASHABLE]

Casey Neistat brought Nike plenty of positive press back in April with his “Make It Count” video for the Nike FuelBand.

Neistat, a film producer, had been hired by Nike to make several commercials for the FuelBand, but by the time he started on the third spot, he got restless and decided to deviate from the plan. Neistat ended up using the money Nike had allotted him for the ad to travel around the world filming himself living life to the fullest.

The result was an inspiring video that has since been viewed more than 8 million times onYouTube.

Now, Neistat is back with a follow-up to the ad that features a new slogan (“Do More”) and perhaps more importantly, the FuelBand itself. As Neistat points out in the beginning of the new video, he wasn’t wearing a Nike FuelBand during his various activities in the video because it hadn’t been released yet. “I wasn’t actually wearing a Fuel Band,” he says. “But I have one now. So I thought I’d revisit the idea.”

Over the course of less than 4 minutes, we see Neistat motorcycle through Vietnam, jet ski in Doha, skydive over Israel and jump off a waterfall in Africa — all while wearing the Fuel Band, which tracks his activity throughout. It may not be quite what Nike designed the Fuel Band for, but this ad, like the previous one, encourages viewers to stay active in their life, which is certainly a message Nike can get behind.

Do you think the new video is as good as the original? Let us know in the comments.
